Rashad Vaughn, UNLV

Vaughn is the best player in the group working out today. In mock drafts, Vaughn is projected to go in the first round right around the Wizards pick at 19. The 6’5 200 lb shooting guard possesses many skills, but the most impressive is his ability to score. He averaged 17.8 points and shot 38 percent from three this season for the Runnin’ Rebels.

Vaughn doesn’t turn 19 until August, which leaves NBA teams time to develop him into a great player, which he has the potential to be. However, we have seen many teams in previous drafts go off potential and upside and it not working out for their benefit. Vaughn could help the Wizards if he improved in other assets of the game besides scoring to become more of a complete player, but the Wizards will more than likely pass on him with their 19th pick. Then again, Ernie Grunfeld has proved Wizards’ fans wrong before…
