Corey Hawkins, UC Davis

Hawkins is a 6’2 point guard who had a productive college career at UC Davis, as he was named Big West Conference Player of the Year his senior season. One statistic that pops out immediately is Hawkins’ three-point percentage, which was 49 percent this past season. He is definitely a scoring point guard, but he also knows how to get others involved within the flow of the game.

His father, Hersey Hawkins, played in the NBA for 13 years and was named an All-Star in 1991. This will help Hawkins tremendously with learning the process of the workouts and making a team. Even with his impressive numbers, Hawkins’ name hasn’t appeared on any mock drafts, but if he impresses a team during pre-draft workouts, that could change quickly. If the Wizards don’t take Jerian Grant in the first round, Hawkins could be the name called in the second.
