Pro: Lakers Will Bring Free Agents

One thing will always be true about the Lakers, there will always be free agents that will want to play in Los Angeles.

With all due respect to the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Lakers franchise is the premier franchise in basketball. There hasn’t been a franchise in the league that has brought more star power, entertainment and Hall of Fame caliber players than the Lakers. They are the New York Yankees of basketball and because of their standing with the league, they will always have the ability to bring in quality free agents.

Just because they’ve struck out on the LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes doesn’t mean they’ll miss out on the Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and Marc Gasol ones. People are going to want to play for the Lakers a lot sooner than many people expect.

Towns would probably be playing with another max level player in Los Angeles before the end of his third season in the league.
