Pro: Franchise Center

Wilt Chamberlain. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Shaquille O’Neal. Dwight Howard. You can even throw in Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and Vlade Divac on this list too.

If there’s one thing that’s certain about the Los Angeles Lakers’ history, it’s that they will always bring in a quality game-changing center.

If the Lakers can manage to draft Karl-Anthony Towns in the 2015 NBA Draft, they are banking that he’ll become one of the next great centers that the franchise has ever seen.

Thankfully, because the management understands that they’re in rebuilding mode, they’ll let Towns play through his rookie mistakes in order to reach his potential.

There must be something in the water in Los Angeles, because for some reason when centers play for the Lakers they normally play to their potential. If Towns can even have half of the career of the four Hall of Famers mentioned before, then he’ll put himself on the correct path for his professional career.
