Pro: Developing Game

From the minute that Karl-Anthony Towns suits up for the Minnesota Timberwolves he’ll be given the keys to the kingdom on offense. Everything from the free throw line down will be his area of free rein.

Flip Saunders loves players who know how to post up and get two points. Who wouldn’t want a dominant low post scorer?

Playing for the Timberwolves, when the game isn’t being sped up by Rubio, LaVine or Wiggins, it will be slowed down. Towns will get the basketball on the block more often so his post game will have to improve.  When Towns played for the Kentucky Wildcats he wasn’t the focal point on offense. On these young Timberwolves he’ll be the second most important player offensively. That’s a big change in any players life.

How quickly Towns will be able to adjust to the strength of the NBA game will be key for his development.
