Con: A Team With No Identity

Is Ricky Rubio still the point guard of the future?

As much as you love watching Rubio, it’s ok to doubt because I’m starting to doubt too. Would you start Rubio, a point guard who’s not a good shooter, an above average defender and always injury riddled, or Zach LaVine, a 20-year-old freak of an athlete, who’s game is still going to grow once he starts getting more minutes?

Timberwolves management is going to have to address this eventually because they’re paying Rubio too much money to not start him. What about Kevin Martin too? Are you going to give him minutes with the season Shabazz Muhammad put together?

Also, do the Timberwolves want to play fast? They’ve got the horses for it. Or do they want to play slow? They’ve got he horses for it.

There are so many question marks with this team’s identity and their style of play which once again points back to the management. Ownership needs to create a clear identity of the style of basketball team that the Timberwolves want to become.
