It took Kevin Garnett way too long to leave the Minnesota Timberwolves because he could have won multiple NBA championships. The organization couldn’t put a steady talented team behind his name.

Garnett was ready to lead the franchise to new heights and never had the talent around him. Ever since I can remember the best move from the organization was bringing in Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell in respective trades — and that was more than 10 years ago.

The Timberwolves are full of blunders with their organization like when they chose to draft Jonny Flynn and Ricky Rubio before Stephen Curry in 2009.

Getting Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins from the same draft was a good start. Thinking of ways to get free agents to play in Minnesota is a question the organization hasn’t been able to answer.

Will they ever be able to field a good team? They’ve got a few cornerstone players on their roster.
