Houston Rockets: 5 Keys to Climbing Out of 0-2 Hole
2. Terrence Jones
The Houston Rockets have an interesting and versatile combination at power forward in Terrence Jones and Josh Smith. Smith has been a pleasant surprise for Houston, doing everything from facilitating to going off for 3-point field goals in key situations.
Jones hasn’t provided that same impact.
If Houston is going to have a chance at defeating the Golden State Warriors, it’ll need Jones to bring his A-Game. He’s the very definition of a do-it-all power forward as a player who can shoot, go to the post, facilitate, handle the ball, defend his position and crash the boards.
The question is, how ready is he to utilize those skills?
Inconsistency has plagued Jones during his NBA career, and that’s never been more clear than in the playoffs. He’s shooting just 42.4 percent from the field in the 2015 playoffs and is just 2-of-16 from 3-point range.
If Jones can find his groove, he can transform the second unit—the third key to success.
