If you’re going to argue that LaMarcus Aldridge is a superior player to Kevin Love, I won’t offer much resistance. It simply must be noted that Aldridge will turn 30 in July, while Love won’t turn 27 until September.

When two players have both earned multiple All-NBA honors, a three-year age difference is big.

Love has his injury concerns, but most have been freak accidents. Thus, no red flag should exist for his health and the Los Angeles Lakers should look at Love for what he is: dynamic.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers are Love’s preferred free agency destination.

"Boston has been no sure thing to lure Love, but it had a better shot than most had believed. If Love left the Cavaliers, the Celtics had closed the gap on the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told Yahoo Sports."

After a chippy and injury-inducing first-round encounter with the Boston Celtics in the 2015 NBA Playoffs, many have scratched L.A.’s rival off the list.

Love is a strong post player who can face up and attack or score with his back to the basket. He’s also a productive 3-point shooter who can work off of screens like a guard and space the floor for slashing scorers.

Most importantly, Love is a dominant rebounder who can control the offensive glass. Even when his shot isn’t falling, his mere presence on the glass can change the tone of a game.

Love has his critics, but the two-time All-NBA Second Team honoree would help the Lakers return to glory.
