Los Angeles Lakers fans aren’t accustomed to failure. Not only did the Lakers miss the playoffs in 2014-15, but they did so for the second consecutive season—something that hadn’t happened since 1976.

Prior to 2013-14, the Lakers hadn’t missed the playoffs since 2004-05. Before that, it hadn’t been done since 1993-94 and, before that, 1976.

As Lakers fans, making the playoffs is beyond an expectation. It’s such a widespread belief that Los Angeles will contend that merely floating around .500 is a cause for devastation.

The question is, who should Mitch Kupchak target in free agency to rebuild, reload and bring Los Angeles back to championship relevance?
