Don’t Count On The Lakers Landing LaMarcus Aldridge

All things are not equal in the chase for LaMarcus Aldridge in free agency. Other suitors will be able to offer him a better roster and a better shot at a title than the Los Angeles Lakers.

And, while the Lakers can offer him a buffet of mid-range jumpers and a media extravaganza, it’s worth noting that the New York Knicks can offer him the same thing; albeit their version has more snow involved.

Mitch Kupchak and company will more than likely get their chance to meet with Aldridge’s representation, much like they did with LeBron James last season. They will have the opportunity to pitch him on their young talent and their future plans to land more All-Stars in the upcoming summers of 2016 and 2017.

The one thing that they will be unable to offer him — at least without lying — is a legitimate shot at a championship in 2015-16.

LaMarcus Aldridge is a good fit for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Unfortunately, the Lakers are not the best fit from Aldridge’s standpoint. Unless the Lakers can land a few prominent players in conjunction with the star forward, as well as a talented player in the upcoming draft, that doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon.

Hopefully he likes 75-degree weather as much as he does mid-range jump shots.
