The Golden State Warriors have been basketball royalty all season long. By nearly every metric available, they were the best regular season team and the most likely threat to win the NBA Finals. But as we saw last night, the Dubs aren’t perfect either.

In a disappointing Game 2 performance, the Warriors lost 97-90 at home, recording their third loss at Oracle Arena for the entire 2014-15 season. Even without the disappointment of losing on the night Stephen Curry was presented with his MVP trophy, it was a massively underwhelming night for a team that had been a perfect 5-0 in the playoffs to that point.

The Warriors played about as poorly as they’ve played all season. They weren’t making shots they’d normally make, they trailed for almost the entire game and they really just didn’t look like they had it.

But as tempting as it is to question the Warriors’ first sign of weakness in their darkest time of the playoffs thus far, nobody should be pressing the panic button just yet. Losing home-court advantage and giving the Memphis Grizzlies hope is a significant blow, but it’s not life-threatening to a team like these Warriors.

Here’s a look at five reasons why Game 2 happened and why the rest of this series probably won’t follow the same plot line.
