Shut Teague Down.

Winning the point guard matchup is needed. Jeff Teague and John Wall will definitely be going at it in the series, and it will be fun to watch. Personally, I don’t see Teague as a point guard that is anywhere near the caliber of Wall. Wall is too speedy for Teague, and Teague will have issues guarding him. In addition to this, Teague has shown he’s pretty easy to defend.

Check out this video where he’s tripped up by the Pelicans defense earlier this year with just a simple hand in his face.

In this video, in addition to being easily defended, he also loses his defender quickly. This won’t happen with Wall, because Wall has speed that will keep him on Teague.

Teague isn’t used to dealing with defenders like this, and I believe it will give him a hard time, and keep his numbers low throughout the series. He can get near 20 points per game from time to time, and it’s going to be important to make sure he can’t do that.

Similarly, he’s great at dishing the ball out and getting assists, something that also needs to be kept to a minimum.

Wall must make sure he is able to handle Teague, despite his speed advantage on him. Winning the matchup is important.
