5. Tyreke Evans‘ Injury Could Have An Impact

Tyreke Evans, seen by many as New Orleans’ second most important player, played a grand total of 12 minutes (one point, 0-for-2 shooting) in the Pelicans’ playoff debut. Unfortunately for Reke and the Pellies, he was being examined with a what was called a “left knee contusion” — not exactly how you want your first career playoff game to go.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, however, the issue could be a lot more serious, as Evans said he “felt a little pop, felt a little snap” in his knee after banging knees with Andre Iguodala early on. Evans is scheduled to get an MRI to assess the damage.

The Pelicans were able to mount their fourth quarter comeback without him, but obviously this is very bad news. If Evans is unable to go, New Orleans could be very short-handed in the backcourt, especially since Jrue Holiday just recently returned from his own injury and is on something of a minutes restriction.
