Honorable Mention:

Every Game Bryce Cotton Played

Bryce Cotton went from a player in the NBA D-League who gained a lot of attention to a role player for a team that started to gain more attention. Cotton played 15 games for the Jazz but he made the most of every opportunity that he was given.

Cotton scored in double figures four times and he excited everyone in the organization about his potential to become a true NBA point guard.

Cotton

can become

already is a true NBA point guard.

If there was another play that any person on the Jazz roster completed a more athletic play than this dunk please let me know.

The Other Guys

Outside of Cotton, the regular starting lineup and everyone not named Gordon Hayward or Derrick Favors, it was refreshing to see the way that they stepped up this season. A lot of credit has to go to Joe Ingles, Jack Cooley, Elijah Millsap and every other player who wasn’t given the attention that the rest of their peers got.

It was great to see the way that these players contributed time and time again for the team on different nights.

Oh, of course we didn’t leave out Trevor Booker. Booker is the unofficial king of the other guys. He gave us so many highlight moments that we would be insane to forget to mention his name. We can just call him Will Ferrell in this instance and the rest of the team can be Mark Wahlberg.

J.P. Gibson

This heartwarming story is the reason why many people started becoming fans of the Jazz again. J.P. Gibson was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia back in 2012. Because of the “Anything Can Be” project the Jazz hosted Gibson and his family. Gibson got the opportunity to participate in a scrimmage, he signed a contract with the team and he held his own interview.

Almost six months later Gibson was looking spry when as he attended the Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies game. It’s now even being discussed if Gibson should become the representative for the Jazz at the draft lottery. Hopefully Gibson can make a recovery long after the lottery and help become the true winner.

When a team can impact another person’s life, especially a sick child, it’s nothing less than praiseworthy.
