Verdict

Yes this team is going home in round one, no they won’t even win a game. I’d be surprised if they even had many leads throughout the four games they’ll play against Atlanta. For a playoff picture, this has made for some pretty bleak writing. That’s because I feel they’re lucky to have even made it this far anyway. There’s just not a lot to like here.

Had the Pacers or Heat gotten to this point, both their outlooks would have been more positive. This Nets team is led by a has been in Williams and a trier in Johnson who is just not up to carrying a franchise anymore. Ironically enough he did that for Atlanta for periods in the past. They will give the Hawks little trouble.

Going forward, it’s unclear what this team can do to get better. So many of their upcoming draft picks were given away, and when this team attempted a fire sale midway through the year, interest around the league was worryingly low for their players. The huge contracts that Johnson and Williams are on does not help their cause either. All in all, a pretty bleak picture I think you’ll agree.
