Verdict

It’s always foolish to bet against this team, you can end up looking silly. But that’s what I’m going to do. It’s so difficult to go back to back in this league, but that’s not even the reason I’m going against them. They’ll make the conference finals, and the relative ease with which they’ll do it will be frightening.

But this Golden State Warriors team, well they’re historically good and I can see them going all the way this season. Their three-point shooting and the struggles of the Spurs to defend that to even a league average standard a part of that. But Golden State isn’t just a team of individual stars, they have a system in place that rivals the Spurs for efficiency.

Is this the end of the road for San Antonio? I don’t think so, there’s a year left for this group to win it all again. Crazier still, I could see them winning a title next year. But they’ll have to settle for making it to the last four this year as a younger team with equal chemistry beats them for the one spot out of the West.
