Duke: 30 Greatest Players In School History
25. Chris Carrawell
1996-2000
Carrawell is the perfect example of the classic case of a role player who develops into a star by their senior year. Carrawell averaged only 5.5 points per game his freshman season, that total jumped to 16.9 points per game by the end of his career.
Carrawell was a 6-foot-6 small forward that was not afraid to play down low. He was also a solid three-point shooter, knocking down 37.7 percent of his three-pointers during his final season in Durham. That season he was also named an All-American and the ACC Player of the Year.
He was selected in the second round of the 2000 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs, but he never played in the NBA. After a professional career overseas, Carrawell got into coaching. He is currently an assistant coach at Marquette.
