28. Tommy Amaker

1983-1987

Before he was leading Harvard to the NCAA Tournament on a regular basis, Amaker was a four-year starter at point guard for Mike Krzyzewski. Amaker averaged 8.5 points and 5.1 assists per game during his career, and he was a member of the team that reached the 1986 NCAA Championship Game.

Amaker was most known for his defense, holding Duke’s career steals record until it was broken by Shane Battier.

After his playing career he got into coaching, starting as an assistant on Duke’s staff. Amaker has coached at Seton Hall, Michigan, and now Harvard during his coaching career.
