21. Bob Verga
1965-1967
Verga was a diminutive point guard that could pass and score at a high level. He and Jack Marin led Duke to the 1966 Final Four. Verga averaged 22 points and 3.7 rebounds during his career, assists were not recorded back then.
In 1967 he set the Duke record for points per game in a single season with 26.1. It was later surpassed by J.J. Redick. Verga played professionally from 1967 to 1977 in both the ABA and the NBA.
