3. Orlando’s Backcourt Tandem

In Elfrid Payton and Oladipo, this team has it’s backcourt set for the next number of years. I spoke before about potentially difficult decisions to be made if a guy like Mudiay is still on the board when the Magic pick. But really, Oladipo has already gone off since the All-Star break, while Payton’s back to back triple-doubles had the whole league talking.

Even better for the team is both players blend perfectly together. I spoke recently on the Orlando Magic Daily podcast about both players play hard defense already, with both having the potential to be elite in this category.

Oladipo is the athletic freak whose offensive game is growing quickly. Payton is the thinker, moving his team around like chess pieces and providing delicious passes. Together, they make a hugely impressive duo and one which is the foundation for this team going forward.
