24. 1947-49 Kentucky Wildcats

The original Fab Five took place decades before Michigan made the name cool. This Fab Five consisted of Alex Groza, Ralph Beard, Cliff Barker, Wah Wah Jones and Kenny Rollins who not only won a national title but won Olympic Gold in 1948 at the London Olympics. If that wasn’t enough, the Wildcats went back-to-back in 1949 giving Adolph Rupp his first two national titles as head coach of Kentucky. Unfortunately, the lasting memory of this team was the point shaving scandal that got Beard and Groza banned from the NBA.
