Illinois might be the most forgotten great team ever. The Illini started the season 29-0 before losing to Ohio State and only lost once more; it just so happened to be in the national championship game against North Carolina. Led by Deron Williams at point guard, Illinois tied a then-record 37 wins for a season. Luther Head was the leading scorer at 15.9 points per game and Dee Brown was the third guard in one of the most loaded backcourts in recent memory.
