10. 1953-54 Kentucky Wildcats

The Wildcats were 25-0 yet couldn’t compete for a national title because – surprise, surprise – an idiotic NCAA rule. Star players Cliff Hagan, Frank Ramsey and Lou Tsioropoulous were ruled ineligible because they had technically graduated a year prior, yet were still enrolled in the school and taking classes. Despite the wishes of the other players, head coach Adolph Rupp decided to take a jab at the NCAA and sit out the postseason, thereby leaving what could be another national title out there for Kentucky.
