16. 1983-84 Georgetown Hoyas

Just a couple years after Bird vs Magic there was Ewing vs Hakeem. Sure, it didn’t save basketball or have the names like Bird and Magic, but it was a classic battle that started in the 1984 title game between Georgetown and Houston. The Hoyas were a constant mainstay in the Final Four, but couldn’t win the big one until 1984. Ewing was the most dominant player in college basketball at the time, averaging a double-double with with over 16 points and 10 rebounds per game, plus blocking numerous shots. Unfortunately they didn’t record blocks as a stat, but he was the best defender in the game as well. Joining Ewing on the roster was Reggie Williams and David Wingate, who both made a career in the NBA.
