20. 1978-79 Indiana State Sycamores

Two words. Larry Bird. The Hick from French Lick is good enough to make a team one of the 20 best teams of all time. One of the most impressive things is Bird played the entire NCAA Tournament with a broken thumb yet had one of the best individual performances of all time. The Sycamores played in one of the most important games in NCAA Tournament history when Bird faced off against rival Magic Johnson and his Michigan State team in the title game. The loss was the first and only one for Indiana State.
