SEC: 5 Reasons Why Gregg Marshall Should Coach At Alabama
The New ‘It’ Conference
The ACC and Big 12 might have had seven teams apiece in the 2015 NCAA tournament, but next season the SEC might be able to match that, or come close to it. It’s not a stretch to say that the SEC will have at least five teams ranked within the top 25 before the end of the next college basketball season.
Georgia will be in the mix. LSU with Jordan Mickey and Jarell Martin will be in the mix. Kentucky will always be in the mix. Arkansas is going to bring back their best two players, and Texas A&M will have an even stronger team than it did this season. Of course, we can’t count out the Florida Gators either.
The ACC in basketball is heads and shoulders better than every conference, but recently we’ve seen a shift in the way that the SEC has started to land big-time athletes. Thanks to the Kentucky Wildcats and the way that they constantly bring in awesome recruiting classes, other athletes around the country have gone to rival SEC schools to play against them.
It might take a long time to happen, but the SEC has started to slowly become one of the better conferences in college basketball.
When Marshall starts to work at Alabama it would only be a matter of time before he started to influence the culture and bring pure-blooded basketball players to Alabama with him.
