Efficiency

We’ve touched on this a bit with his three-point shooting and his free throw shooting, but Iguodala’s efficiency really needed its own category. Simply put, his shot has been ON since the beginning of February, when he shot 51.3 percent from the floor and 38.9 percent from downtown to average 10.3 points in 28.3 minutes per game.

In March, his field goal attempts have dropped by 1.4 per game compared to February, but his incredible 62.2 percent shooting means he’s still putting up 10.1 points in 27.2 minutes per game. Again, Andre Iguodala is shooting 62.2 percent from the field for the month of March. And that’s without mentioning his 42.4 percentage from three-point land.

Shooters go through slumps and they have hot streaks, so it logically follows that a guy like Iguodala, who’s never been pegged as a bonafide “shooter,” will probably come back down to earth soon. Games like his 9-for-11, 21-point performance against the Portland Trail Blazers are the exception, not the norm.

But a byproduct of Golden State’s superb ball movement has been a number of quality looks for Iguodala, and he’s been making the most of them. It probably took a lot to swallow his pride at the start of the season and adapt to a bench role, but now that he’s adjusted and has bought in to the strategy it takes to win games, it’s paying off for both the Warriors and Iggy.

That’s right, folks. Andre Iguodala is now an X-factor on the NBA’s best offense.
