#1 Duke Blue Devils knocks out #8 San Diego State Aztecs in 68-49 win

San Diego State’s vaunted defense didn’t look all that powerful going against the Blue Devils as Duke shot 54 percent from the field in the game. Jahlil Okafor went for 26 points on 12-for-16 shooting for the game.

Okafor went to work early and often in the post, even showing off some isolation driving skills, something that makes him even more unfair as an NBA prospect. The Aztecs did all they could, but Duke was able to feed the big man which opened up the rest of their offense.

Justise Winslow posted a double-double in the win with 13 points and 12 rebounds, but did a little bit of everything with five assists, four steals and three blocks in the game as well.

Winston Shepard led the Aztecs with 13 points and five rebounds. San Diego State’s offensive woes continued, shooting just 32 percent overall as a team.

San Diego State finishes the season with a 27-8 record.

Duke advances to its fifth Sweet 16 appearance since 2008. Awaiting them is a Utah team that presents a very, very interesting matchup for the Blue Devils. More on that game later in the week.
