March Madness 2015: Top Plays From Day 1 Of NCAA Tournament
No. 4 North Carolina vs. No. 13 Harvard:
Oh, Harvard. You were so close to pulling off the first round upset once again. After a four-point play from Siyani Chambers turned a two-point deficit into a two-point lead with 1:15 remaining, it felt like the Crimson had a shot at rallying from their 16-point disadvantage:
But then North Carolina’s Justin Jackson calmly drained a floater to tie it up. And after a missed three from Chambers took an odd bounce, the Tar Heels were on the break again. A quick dunk for Jackson suddenly had UNC up two only 52 seconds after Harvard had built all the momentum.
The Crimson had one last look at the upset, putting the ball in the hands of their best player, Wesley Saunders. But Saunders couldn’t add three more points to his 26-point total and this Cinderella story was cast asunder before midnight, 67-65.
