Milwaukee Bucks: A Juggernaut in the Making
By Greg Chin
Michael Carter-Williams
However, the player with the biggest question mark surrounding his future is Michael Carter-Williams. Obtained in a trade for Brandon Knight, the Bucks essentially hurt their playoff credentials this season in order to put the rest of the team on the same timetable.
Knight was due for a contract extension in the offseason, while MCW was in the same draft class as Antetokoumpo. A straight swap gave them the chance to sync up the team’s peak, and prevented them from having to offer Knight a big extension while seemingly still stuck in the rebuilding process.
Whether Carter-Williams features in the team’s future is still up for debate, as he (along with most of the starting lineup) is an offensive liability. His inability to make consistent jumpers hurts the team’s offense, and the Bucks could be interested in other point guards in the upcoming draft class.
As of now, he is a polarizing player within the fanbase, with many unsure of what to make of him.
