Milwaukee Bucks: A Juggernaut in the Making
By Greg Chin
Giannis Antetokoumpo
When the Bucks drafted Giannis Antetokounmpo, many analysts laughed at the pick, ridiculing the front office for taking such a gamble on an unknown quantity. Giannis was playing in the second division of the Greek basketball league, and apart from a few grainy YouTube highlights, not much was known of him.
His rookie season in the league showed moments of promise, but it was clear that Giannis was incredibly raw, and lacked the playing experience that many rookies entered the league with.
This season however, he has transformed into one of the most electrifying players in the league, combining his explosive athleticism and freak physical gifts with and an improving basketball IQ. We are seeing an increase in production across all statistical categories from him, and it’s not far-fetched to suggest that he could end up being the best player in the 2013 NBA Draft.
