27. Scott Padgett

4 seasons, 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.2 steals, 45% FG

After playing limited minutes as a freshman, Scott Padgett was ruled ineligible to play the following year due to academic problems. What happened instead could be described as a blessing in disguise.

Padgett turned into one of the most pivotal players during a dominating stretch for Kentucky. After losing to Arizona in the national championship game as a sophomore, he was named to the All-Final Four team thanks to his 17 points against the western Wildcats.

His versatility was shown off the next year when he led Kentucky to a national championship in a win over Utah. He was named All-American for his 11.4 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game effort. Padgett would finish his career with over 1,200 points and 650 rebounds.
