29. Melvin Turpin

Turpin was a 6’11” center who decided to stay home and play for his hometown Wildcats. He ended up being a three-time All-SEC selection while also being a two-time All-American. He helped lead Kentucky to the 1984 Final Four.

After playing just 13 minutes a game as a freshman, he broke out during his sophomore year playing over 30 minutes a game and averaging over 13 points and seven rebounds a game. That year was his best rebounding effort during his time in Lexington.
