5. John Wall

1 season, 16.6 points, 6.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals

Remember how there’s more to basketball than looking at stats? Well, combine stats and being the second most important player to commit to Kentucky in the school history and you have John Wall. See, John Wall made Kentucky cool again.

After one of the lowest points in Kentucky basketball history, otherwise known as the Billy Gillispie-era, Wall was the first recruit to come with John Calipari to Kentucky. He came as the No. 1 recruit and didn’t disappoint. He led the Wildcats to a No. 1 ranking and SEC title before being upset by West Virginia in the Elite Eight.

Wall set the school record for most assists in a single season (241) and most assists in a single game (16). Despite playing just one year, he finished ninth all-time in steals for Kentucky.
