8. Wah Wah Jones

4 seasons, 8.7 points, 63%FG, Jersey retired in football and basketball

There’s no question who the most athletically talented player is in the history of Kentucky athletics. Wallace ‘Wah Wah’ Jones was a three sport athlete, getting his jersey retired in basketball and football while also playing first base and pitcher for the Kentucky baseball team. He’s also the only person who could call both Adolph Rupp and Bear Bryant his coach.

Jones was a three-time All-American and four-time All-SEC player who was part of the Fabulous Five team. In 1948, Jones was one of the stars on the national championship team, the first in Kentucky’s history. He also won an Olympic gold with his teammates in London.

Jones was selected No. 9 by Washington in the 1949 NBA Draft.
