12. Alex Groza

4 seasons, 14.4 points, Olympic Gold Medal, 2 time National Champion

You read that correct. Alex Groza won a gold medal while playing for Kentucky. In fact the majority of the 1948 Kentucky roster made up Team USA in the Olympics that year and defeated France 64-21 in London for the gold medal.

On top of the gold medal, he was a three-time All-American and single-handily won Kentucky the 1949 championship. In the title game against Oklahoma Groza scored 25 of Kentucky’s 46 points. Groza started 110 consecutive games and only lost one SEC game during his four-year career at Kentucky.
