30. Willie Cauley-Stein

Nearly 3 seasons (and counting), 7.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 1.1 steals, 23.3 PER

How can a guy who has never averaged more than 10 points a game be included as one of the 30 best players in the best program in college basketball? The answer is simple. Willie Cauley-Stein is the second most versatile defender in Kentucky’s history.

He’s in the midst of his junior year and you could make the case no one has improved more from their freshman year than Cauley-Stein. He came to Kentucky as a 7-foot project. Someone who was full of energy, scoring on put back dunks and blocking shots, he’s now transformed into an offensive threat while somehow improving defensively.
