4. Zach LaVine (Minnesota Timberwolves)

Each year, many proclaim “the Dunk Contest is back!” only to be waved off by the sceptics, who are usually right. This time around, however, the Dunk Contest might well and truly be back.

All thanks to Zach LaVine.

The much hyped Minnesota Timberwolves youngster had one of the best Dunk Contest performances in recent history, and even drew comparisons to Vince Carter. He started proceedings off with a Space Jam-themed dunk, and kept the crowd hyped as the rest of the Dunk Contest participants faltered.

His dunks were so impressive that the judges were left staring with their mouth agape, and even had his competitor Victor Oladipo shaking his head in defeat.
