The Miami Heat could be without all-star power forward Chris Bosh for the remainder of the season due to blood clots in his lungs.
Chris Bosh has been a key piece for the Miami Heat this season, and there was excitement surrounding the organization after acquiring Goran Dragic from the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately, that excitement was short-lived when they found out that they could be without Bosh for the remainder of the season due to blood clots in his lungs.

Throughout the season so far, Bosh has been one of the key leaders for the Heat with Dwyane Wade missing a chunk of time due to injury. Take a look at the consistent numbers that Bosh has been putting up throughout the course of the season.

At 30 years old, Bosh has finally been given the chance to play his game again. Playing alongside of LeBron James wasn’t easy for him, and since James left to re-sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers this has been Bosh’s team. Miami was hoping to make a playoff push following the acquisition of Dragic, but that may not be a good possibility following this news.

It is going to be interesting to see what the Heat do moving forward. This obviously means that players like Udonis Haslem, Chris Andersen and Hassan Whiteside need to step up in a big way until Bosh gets back on the court.
Another major concern is the depth at the power forward and center positions with Bosh going out. Josh McRoberts would be a key piece, but he is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery. Outside of him, there are only three healthy players at the power forward and center positions combined.
Obviously the Heat are going to have to figure something out. There are some pieces in free agency that they could pick up, but they aren’t going to be game changers.
Miami is in a world of hurt following this news, and they have to be wondering what to do next. Dragic is going to come in and shoulder a good chunk of the scoring that Bosh leaves, but they are going to have matchup issues with nearly every team they face. It is going to be seen how important Bosh really is for Miami.
Hopefully Bosh is able to get back on the court at some point this season. He has been playing an excellent season, and it would be too bad to see it end so early due to an issue like this. Either way, Bosh has shown that he is capable of stepping up and being a number one option again.
