Best – Miami Heat Acquire Goran Dragic

Goran Dragic was one of the most talked about names heading into today’s trade deadline, and it took all the way up until the last 15 minutes to get a deal done. The Miami Heat were able to snag the talented point guard away from the Phoenix Suns, and it was a huge move in the right direction for them.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were in need of a third legitimate star, and that is exactly what the Heat went out and got. Dragic has averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. He also listed Miami as a place that he wanted to be traded, which gives the Heat a good chance to get a long-term deal done with him.

The fact that the Heat only had to give up Danny Granger and two first-round picks is a great move. They are in a win now mode, and acquiring Dragic will make those two first-round picks late picks.

Miami is now an even bigger threat with the stretch run towards the playoffs coming up. They are currently the eighth seed in the playoff picture, and will likely begin improving that quickly with Dragic on board.
