NBA Awards Watch: Predicting The Rookie Of The Year Award Race
1. Andrew Wiggins – Minnesota Timberwolves, SF
At this point it’s not fair for any rookie not named Jabari Parker to appear in the same sentence as Andrew Wiggins. The class of the 2014 NBA Draft begins with Wiggins.
Remember how people were debating if he should become the No. 1 pick or not? Well Wiggins is making believers out of the people who doubted him on draft night and called him a project, or just an athlete. He’s also making fools out of the Cleveland Cavaliers for getting rid of the perfect fit for their team.
Wiggins is having an awesome rookie season and after winning the MVP award of the Rising Stars challenge, he’s only going to get even better. This year Wiggins is averaging 15.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Moving forward look for Wiggins’ scoring numbers to hover near 20 points per game.
