23. Indiana Pacers

Previous: No. 23

Record: 21-33

Last Week: 1-0

Biggest Need: A Facilitator

The Indiana Pacers have yet to commit to the idea of shutting Paul George down for the remainder of the 2014-15 NBA season. At 21-33, the Pacers are also within striking distance of the postseason.

With or without George active, the Pacers’ No. 1 focus should be on finding offense.

The Pacers have quality contributors in the likes of Roy Hibbert, C.J. Miles and Rodney Stuckey, but Indiana is essentially devoid of offensive firepower. Its points are generally from ISO sets and its offense is usually inefficient.

Indiana’s biggest deadline need is a facilitator.

George Hill is unfairly criticized, at times, but it’s become clear that he isn’t much of a facilitator. That doesn’t necessarily leave him without value, but Indiana needs a player who can come in and create offense for his teammates.

The bad news is that it’d likely take trading David West to land a player of significance.
