26. Minnesota Timberwolves

Previous: No. 26

Record: 11-42

Last Week: 0-1

Biggest Need: A Less Crowded Roster

The Minnesota Timberwolves are healthy again, and that makes them a team that no one wants to face. The postseason is all but out of reach, but Minnesota has enough raw talent to compete with any opponent.

Some of that talent is likely to be traded at the deadline.

Thaddeus Young is a pending free agent who’s highly unlikely to re-sign in Minnesota. As for the players signed for the long-term, they’ve been signed for the very long-term and leave the T-Wolves without much wiggle room.

Don’t be surprised to see Flip Saunders look for cap relief by dealing the likes of Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic.

Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins are the future stars, and Zach LaVine is becoming a fan favorite. Throw in Gorgui Dieng and the Timberwolves have built a promising core for the future.

On pace for another Top 5 pick, Minnesota is likely to commit to its vision by exploring trade options for its higher-paid players.
