20. Boston Celtics

Previous: No. 21

Record: 20-31

Last Week: 1-0

Biggest Need: A Primary Scoring Option

When the Boston Celtics traded Jeff Green and Rajon Rondo, the general consensus became that the postseason was lost. Instead, the Celtics are just 1.5 games back of the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Moving forward, Boston’s a primary scoring option away from making noise.

Admittedly, a major reason for the Celtics being so close to the postseason is the weak nature of the Eastern Conference. The No. 7 Charlotte Hornets and No. 8 Miami Heat are both well below .500.

Nevertheless, it’s a possibility nonetheless.

Jared Sullinger is scoring at a high clip and both Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk are expanding their game. Depending on the vision of president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, a deadline deal isn’t out of the question.

In the short-term, the Celtics need to find a go-to scorer.
