Verdict

On one hand, trading Goran Dragic away could hamper their chances at making the postseason, but on the other, letting him walk in the offseason could be even more damaging to their long-term prospects.

All in all, this is a difficult decision for the Phoenix Suns to make. When asked about this topic, Suns’ Basketball Operations Lon Babby told ArizonaSports.com that deciding between trading Dragic or letting him walk in free agency was like asking if he would rather be electrocuted by AC or DC current.

Hyperbole aside, this is a serious decision that the Suns have to find an answer for. Choose incorrectly, and all the hard work they’ve been doing these past two seasons could be undermined. It is an unenviable position to be in, but such is the nature of NBA basketball.
