The 2014-15 season has unravelled like a slow nightmare for Phoenix Suns fans. After a brilliant 2013-14 season where they defied expectations and narrowly missed out on a playoff berth in the Western Conference, the Suns haven’t played to their high standards set last season.

Currently, they are sitting in eighth spot in the West, with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the New Orleans Pelicans 0.5 and one game behind, respectively. The problem is, with the NBA trade deadline coming up in a few days, the Suns will have to make a decision that could change the course of their future over the next few seasons.
As many know, Goran Dragic will enter free agency as an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The Dragon was part of a two-man backcourt unit that many touted as one of the best in the league last season. Unfortunately, after adding Isaiah Thomas into the mix, Dragic’s averages have dropped, and he isn’t the same Third Team All-NBA guard from last season.
As the trade deadline draws nearer, other teams have begun expressing an interest in the Slovenian point guard. The Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers have been his biggest admirers, and have begun seeing if the Suns are interested in a deal.
With just a few short days left before the trade deadline, the Suns’ organization is in a difficult spot, and will be forced to make a tough decision.
