2. Dallas Mavericks

Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks are always looking to make improvements to their roster, and they are a serious contender for Stoudemire. At this point in time, they appear to be the team that he is leaning towards signing with.

Dallas wouldn’t be a bad fit for Stoudemire, but they couldn’t offer him a starting job either. He would be coming off of the bench behind Dirk Nowitzki, and would likely see around 20-24 minutes per game. If he is comfortable with that type of role then Dallas would be a great fit, but he would definitely prefer to start.

There is no question that the Mavericks are a legitimate championship contender when they are healthy, and adding Stoudemire to their rotation would improve those chances. They have a stacked starting lineup with Tyson Chandler, Nowitzki, Chandler Parson, Monta Ellis, and Rajon Rondo, but could use an better bench.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Stoudemire end up with Dallas, but there is another team that would be an even better fit for him and would be able to give him the starting job that he desires.
