5. Los Angeles Clippers

One team that is sure to have interest in signing a player with the skill-set that Amare Stoudemire possesses, is the Los Angeles Clippers. Doc Rivers has made it clear all season long that they plan to be active on the free agency market when talent becomes available, and this is likely the best opportunity to sign a difference maker that he is going to get.

Stoudemire would be a strong addition to bolster the Clippers’ front-court depth off the bench, and would be a perfect backup for Blake Griffin. There is no chance that Stoudemire could work his way into the starting lineup unless an injury occurred, which makes the Clippers a less likely destination.

That being said, the Clippers are the sixth seed in the Western Conference and have plenty of talent. Adding a strong veteran presence like Stoudemire might be exactly what they need to get themselves over the top.

If Stoudemire is comfortable with a bench role on a playoff contender, then the Clippers would be a potential landing spot for him. Los Angeles will make a push for him, but they aren’t his best suitor.
