Which five teams would be ideal trade destinations for Phoenix Suns point guard Isaiah Thomas if they decide to trade him before Thursday’s trade deadline?
The Phoenix Suns have been one of the most active teams in NBA trade rumors with Thursday’s trading deadline coming up quickly. Goran Dragic has been one name that has been mentioned quite often, but now reports have come out that the Suns would rather trade point guard Isaiah Thomas than Dragic.
Thomas was signed to a deal in free agency by the Suns this past offseason, and has been a lethal scoring threat off the bench for Phoenix. He has averaged 15.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game this year, while shooting 42.6 percent from the floor overall and 39.1 percent from behind the three-point arc. Many would question why the Suns would want to trade Thomas with the production that he is putting up for them.

Quite frankly, Dragic hasn’t been very happy with the three point guard rotation that the Suns have been running. It has taken him out of his game a bit, and the Suns would rather keep him alongside of Eric Bledsoe.
If the Suns do indeed push a Thomas trade, there are plenty of teams around the NBA that would likely be interested in acquiring him. Thomas is just 26 years old, and is still improving his game. His offense is already deadly, and he is a more than capable playmaker for his teammates as well.
All of that being said, which five teams would be ideal suitors for Thomas if the Suns did indeed put him on the trade market? Also, what would the trades potentially look like if they did agree to a deal with the Suns?
